Ingredients

For the Wings
  • cooking spray
  • 2 pounds chicken wingettes or wingettes and drumettes defrosted if frozen
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
Seasoning Mix
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground paprika
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika optional (use more regular ground paprika to substitute)
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cumin optional
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper optional

Equipment

  • Baking sheet

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray.
  2. Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. In a large bowl, toss the wings with vegetable oil until evenly coated.
  3. In a small bowl, combine all the ingredients for the seasoning mix. Sprinkle the seasoning mix over the wings and toss to coat them well.
  4. Arrange the seasoned wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 45 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For extra crispy wings, you can increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C) during the last 10-15 minutes of cooking, watching carefully to prevent burning.
