Total Time 40 minutes
Servings: 6 glasses
Course: Beverage
Cuisine: Mexican

Ingredients

For the Agua Fresca
  • 2 cups cucumber peeled and roughly chopped
  • 2 cups watermelon seedless and cubed
  • 1/4 cup lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 2-4 tablespoons sugar or to taste
  • 4 cups water cold
For Garnish (Optional)

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Fine-mesh sieve
  • Pitcher

Method

  1. Combine the chopped cucumber, cubed watermelon, lime juice, and sugar in a blender.
  2. Blend until smooth. Add the cold water and blend again briefly.
  3. Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing on the solids to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids.
  4. Chill the agua fresca in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  5. Serve over ice, garnished with lime slices and cucumber slices if desired.

Notes

Adjust the amount of sugar to your preference. For a less sweet drink, use less sugar or a sugar substitute. You can also add a few mint leaves to the blender for an extra layer of flavor.
