Garlic Steak Tortellini

Ingredients
  

For the Steak
  • 2 lbs steak of choice seasoned with salt, pepper, and garlic
For the Tortellini
  • 24 oz fresh tortellini
  • 8 oz butter
  • minced garlic
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1.5 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1.5 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 small lemon zest
  • 0.5 lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp dijon mustard
Optional Toppings
  • Grated Parmesan
  • Parsley

Method
 

  1. Season steaks with salt, pepper, and garlic. Cook to your desired temperature on the grill, then set aside to rest.
  2. In a large saute pan, melt the butter over medium-low heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic and stir until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the garlic powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Then, add the chicken broth and heavy cream.
  5. Add the lemon zest, lemon juice, and dijon mustard. Stir until all ingredients are combined.
  6. Add the fresh tortellini to the sauce and bring to a simmer.
  7. Cover the pan and let the tortellini plump up for about 10 minutes, stirring every few minutes.
  8. Once the steak has rested, cut it into chunks and add it to the tortellini. Stir until the tortellini is well coated with the sauce.
  9. Serve topped with grated Parmesan and parsley, if desired.
