Grilled Portobello Mushrooms

Ingredients
  

For the Mushrooms
  • 4 Portobello mushrooms stems removed, gills scraped
For the Marinade
  • 1/4 cup Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Balsamic vinegar
  • 1 clove Garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon Black pepper

Equipment

  • Grill
  • Small bowl
  • Basting brush

Method
 

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper to make the marinade.
  3. Brush both sides of the portobello mushroom caps with the marinade.
  4. Place the mushrooms gill-side down on the preheated grill.
  5. Grill for 5-7 minutes per side, or until tender and slightly charred.
  6. Serve hot.

Notes

You can add cheese like mozzarella or goat cheese during the last few minutes of grilling for extra flavor.
