Method
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, lemon juice, and cinnamon. Toss to coat the peaches evenly.
- Pour the peach mixture into the 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup flour and 1 cup brown sugar.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the milk until just combined. The topping will be thick.
- Drop spoonfuls of the topping over the peach mixture in the baking dish.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Serve warm, perhaps with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes
You can adjust the amount of brown sugar in the filling based on the sweetness of your peaches. For a richer flavor, you can add a pinch of nutmeg to the topping.
