Seven Layer Taco Dip

This seven-layer taco dip is a quick and easy appetizer perfect for any gathering, especially Taco Tuesday.

Ingredients
  

For the Dip
  • 1 16 ounce can refried beans
  • 1 1 ounce package taco seasoning mix
  • 1 16 ounce container sour cream
  • 1 8 ounce package cream cheese softened
  • 1 16 ounce jar salsa
  • 1 large tomato chopped
  • 1 medium green bell pepper chopped
  • 1 bunch green onions chopped
  • 1 small head iceberg lettuce shredded
  • 2 cups Cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 6 ounce can sliced black olives drained

Equipment

  • Medium bowl
  • Large serving platter
  • Glass dish

Method
 

  1. Combine refried beans and taco seasoning in a medium bowl. Spread this mixture onto a large serving platter.
  2. In a separate medium bowl, mix sour cream and cream cheese. Spread this mixture over the refried beans.
  3. Top with salsa. Layer the chopped tomato, bell pepper, green onions, and shredded lettuce over the salsa.
  4. Sprinkle the shredded Cheddar cheese over the top layer. Garnish with the drained sliced black olives.

Notes

This dip is best served chilled. You can prepare the layers in advance and assemble just before serving.
