For the Pork Chops
  • 4 pork chops seasoned with salt and pepper to taste
For the Topping
  • 2 onions sliced into rings
  • 2 sweet potatoes sliced
  • 2 apples peeled, cored, and sliced into rings
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper freshly ground
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Season the pork chops with salt and pepper to your liking. Arrange them in a medium oven-safe skillet.
  3. Top the pork chops with the sliced onions, sweet potatoes, and apples. Sprinkle the brown sugar over the top.
  4. Season with 2 teaspoons of black pepper and 1 teaspoon of salt.
  5. Cover the skillet and bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour. The dish is ready when the sweet potatoes are tender and the pork chops have reached an internal temperature of 145 degrees F (63 degrees C).
  6. Let the pork chops rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes
